alright im goin’ to the orthodontist soon for braces but i was wondering whut they do? also do you get to pick whut braces you want????
It’s super-easy having them put on and I recommend taking an I-Pod or something like it. The procedure doesn’t hurt but it takes a little while getting all those brackets aligned just right. Your orthodontist will probably already know what kind of braces you’ll need, but you’ll probably be able to pick out the colors of the bands you want.
As for what they do, it’s simple. They use really strong dental adhesive (glue) to stick the brackets to your teeth. Then they afix a thin wire to the brackets and hold that on with little colored rubber bands. The procedure doesn’t hurt a bit, but you may be a little sore for a few days after having them placed and after each adjustment because you’re literally moving your teeth into a new position. No worries on that though, just eat soft food and pop a Tylenol if you really need it.
