I bought a home bleaching kit and done a strand test. It turnt out orange,
Im going to a salon tomorrow to have highlights and was wondering if the bleach they use will be the same as the home stuff?
Thanks!
of course not, salon products are very different. you don’t see salons doing allergy tests on customers and asking them to come back in 48 hours, that’s cause the salon products are friendlier, suitable for all skin and hair types, while the stuff at stores are cheaper, cause they’re made for the lucky people whose hair looks good after.
I’m sure the hairdressers know what to do about the orange, and hey, the kit can’t give you money back if you’re not satisfied, but the salon can (don’t worry, they’re not keen on giving money back, so they make sure it goes perfect)

My hair used to be blonde. I dyed it brown and it didn’t wash out like it was supposed to. I had it bleached professionally, and it’s a dishwater blonde, more dark than light. What is the best bleaching brand to use if I want to get it blonde again? I’ve used Herbal Essence a long time ago and it turned my hair banana yellow. Don’t want that to happen again. What do you think?
If you know a professional hairstylist that can get you professional product WELLA BLONDOR is the best bleach! try the creme bleach its less harmful for your hair, it has a toner in it. but if you must use a store bought bleach, go to a sally’s near you or any beauty supply store they should carry a "Wella" bleach and in order to "tone" it buy a haircolor of the blond you want and mix it with a 10 volume developer after bleaching leave it in for 20 min and it should tone to the pretty blond color you want! Good luck!

I have naturally very, very dark brown hair. I want to dye all of it fire truck red and I know that in order to get that color, I will need to bleach it. How badly will bleaching damage my hair? I recently cut a lot off to make it healthy and I don’t want to completely fry it.
Okay, first of all, make sure you get it WHITE when you bleach it so it comes out red…but yeah it will probably dry your hair out a little…all u gotta do is get a little Infusium 80. You can find it at your beauty supply store, or if it’s super dry and crispy, get a hot oil treatment, those almost always work, I’ve seen my mom (A hair dresser) use these things on the most unrepairable hair.

You can start by dying it light blond, and work your way up, waiting at the very least 2 weeks (or more for better results! you don’t wanna kill your hair follicles!) before you dye it again to let it recover. Work your way up to lighter blonds and then when you get to platinum, go red! I would ask your hair dresser though, because she’ll know what kind of hair you have and how healthy it is, and if it can handle it.

I am asian and have dark hair. I had my hair colored in a salon twice already and I only got a tint.
Some of my friends advised me to use a lighter shade in order to a noticeable result.
Some of them said I should have it bleached?
However bleaching said would make my hair dryer.
Any advice?
Thanks.
FYI guys I’m aiming for reddish brown tones not blonde.
There are several ways to do it. A professional hair colorist can give you the best advise. In my opinion I understand that you can only have two shades lighter without using bleach, the result also is upon which one is your natural hair color, is it very dark?, I assume that if you are Asian your hair is very dark right?. Well I am attaching websites that will answer your questions ( I hope they do) anyway good luck!

I have natural black hair, and I would like to know if it’s possible to dye parts of it red without using bleach. If you can dye parts of it red without bleaching it, what shade of red or color would it turn out to be?
I’d appreciate it if you could show some pictures of the color outcome and what dyes that work best on natural black hair without bleaching.
Thanks!
No, not really. My G/F just went through that. She has jet black hair, which she used ‘born blonde’ stripper/blonde kit to go to blonde and now her roots are grown way out and she wanted to die those red.
It turned out good but not red. The black hair is still black, but with a redish tint in the light

I have super dark asian hair, so I know I’ll have to bleach it beforehand. I’m kind of nervous about bleaching it myself, so would it work if get it bleached at a salon and then dye it myself? (With semi-permanent dyes like special effects or manic panic) Do I have to wait a while after bleaching before dyeing?
my personal suggestion would be to go to the salon, you can purchase hair dye products at any supermarket/drugstore HOWEVER the chemicals in those dyes are not as high quality as the ones used in salon so you are ultimately damaging your hair, please go to a reputable salon..if you try to do it yourself, there’s a chance that you’ll mess up, and then you’d have to go to a salon anyway in order to get it fixed, my personal opinion tho
good luck
